Chaanine cas Rev. George Chaanine (1955-), priest at El Paso's St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Catholic Mission broke a full bottle of wine over the head of a female employee at his southern Nevada church. He was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and battery with intent to commit sex assault, 30 January 2007. He went on the run and was taken into custody in Apache Junction, about 30 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona, 1 February 2007. He pleaded guilty to felony battery with a deadly weapon, 21 September 2007.
Roberts case Rev. Mark Roberts (1951-), pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Henderson, a Las Vegas suburb, was the subject of a church investigation into accusations he inappropriately touched a young man in a shower, c. 1996. Roberts was served a lawsuit that contends he used his position as a youth spiritual director to sexually and emotionally abusing six teenagers, 1997-2001. He was also criminally charged with two counts of using 5 boys in a “series of bizarre, sexually themed rituals” to produce pornographic photos and with striking, fondling and photographing boys he was counseling, 22 April 2002. Pleaded guilty 2 January 2003, sentenced to three years' probation, to be served in an in-house treatment facility, Recon, also known as Wounded Brothers, May 2003.

Agustin affair þRev. Honesto Agustin, pastor at St. Therese the Little Flower Church, Reno, arrived in 2004, was placed on leave by Bishop Randolph Calvo in June 2006 after accusation of improper conduct with a minor. No criminal charges filed in Reno.
Note It was the second time in recent years that a pastor at the Reno church has taken a leave of absence because of allegations of misconduct (Bowling affair).
Boyle affair Rev. Edmund J. Boyle charged with abuse of terminally ill boy, 1987.
Braun affair Rev. Eugene Braun, the former pastor of St. Therese Church of the Little Flower, was accused of mokesting Marie "Terry" LaTourrette Moisan, in the 1960s who settled her case with the diocese in 2007.
Henson affair Rev. Jerome Henson was caught by Sacramento-area police officers in flagrante delicto with a 13-year-old in a graveyard on a summer night in 1981. Bishop Norman McFarland transferred Henson to Orange County in 1984, where McFarland would join him two years later as Bishop of Orange.
