I. What is it? What's new?

Grammatica is a spelling and grammar checker available for English, French, German, Spanish (modules may be installed separately). It includes the following features:

• Access Grammatica from within any editable text window! Just click the Grammatica hotkey (F2 by default), and the checking window will open. Works even within MS Word, Eudora, Outlook, etc.
• Choose to check the whole document, only selected text, or the current paragraph.
• Check spelling and grammar.
• Change languages on the fly -- even in the middle of a checking session.
• Sophisticated writing suggestions (currently in English and French)
• Customizable with a user lexicon.
• Interact with Ultralingua dictionaries.

II. How do you install it?

Installing Ultralingua:

1. If you have a previous version of Grammatica installed on your computer, you should uninstall it first by using the Add/Remove Programs control panel (Windows), or by dragging the Grammatica folder to the trash (Macintosh). NOTE: If you have user lexicons from a previous version, you should save it before removing Grammatica.

2. Windows: Run the installer and follow its directions. ; Mac: simply drag the Grammatica folder in your Applications folder.

Installing new language modules:

If you have downloaded a new version of Grammatica (see the Ultralingua Grammar Products page) or a new language module, you can run all modules in the same interface.

Minimum configuration:

Windows: 95, 98, 2000/Millenium, XP, NT
Macintosh: OS X 10.2+

Grammatica costs $29.95 per language module.

Licensing contract.

This is a legal contract between you and Ultralingua. Using Grammatica means you accept these terms and conditions.

This software is the property of Grammatica (hereafter "the licensor"). This software also contains on-line documentation, and in this contract the term "software" covers the program and the documentation pertaining to it.

Limited user's license

You are hereby granted a nonexclusive license to use this software in accordance with the conditions prescribed within this contract.

• The program may only be used by the person or organization in whose name the registration number has been issued, and on the number of machines defined at the time of registration.
• You hereby agree, in your name and in the name of your agents, to protect the confidentiality of the registration number of the product.
• You may not sublicense, sell, rent, distribute, or reveal the "registration number" of the product, or to allow it to become available to others.
• You may give freely (but not sell, in any case whatsoever), and in any form, a complete copy of the program without the registration number. Distributed thus, the program is operational in trial mode without the registration number.
• You will be held legally responsible for any violation of copyright or royalties (as defined in the present contract) which you occasion or encourage.
• You may not alter, modify, or adapt the software or its documentation, or mix them in part or in whole with another program; nor may you translate them, decompile them, disassemble them; nor may you recreate this program, or functions derived from the program, without the express written consent of the licensor and the other owners.
• This contract will become null and void should any one of these conditions be violated.

Duration:

The license is for an indefinite period. You may cancel it at any moment by notifying the licensor in writing. It may also be cancelled according to the terms laid out in the present license. Upon cancellation you agree to destroy the master copy of the program, the registration number, and any copies of these, and to notify the licensor immediately, in writing, of the destruction of these materials.

Limitations to the warranty and liability limitations.

• Although the licensor has thoroughly tested the programs and reviewed the documentation, the licensor cannot guarantee that the program will suit your needs, nor that it will function correctly in every hardware or software environment, nor that its operation will be uninterrupted or infallible.
• Except insofar as it has been stated in paragraph one (above), the licensor and the other owners grant no guarantee and acknowledge no express or tacit guarantee regarding the software, its quality, its description, its retail value, or its appropriateness for any specific function.
• In no case will the licensor or the other owners assume any responsibility for any direct or indirect damages, losses, loss of revenues, or for any loss of recorded data concerning the use or the unsuitability of the software.
• No distributor, dealer, agent, or intermediary is authorized to modify or otherwise amend this declaration of guarantee and of limited liability.

General terms

This contract is governed by United States law. You acknowledge having read this license and having understood all its terms, and you agree to respect them in whole. Furthermore, you hereby acknowledge that this license contains the complete and exhaustive list of the terms of the agreement concerning the software struck between you, the licensor, and the other owners, and that it replaces any previous agreement or any written or oral exchange or any other communication pertaining to the object of this license.
