Use Language Skills to Ward off Memory Disorders
At Ultralingua, we're always looking into interesting findings in the world of language. Recently, we stumbled upon an interesting article on Yahoo! News that sheds light on Alzheimer's prevention through language skills. A study conducted in November, 2008 suggests that people who possess linguistic skills early in life may be protected from developing memory disorders later in life - even when their brains show the physical signs.
The full article was published in the journal Neurology on July 8, 2009.

So next time you use one of your Ultralingua dictionaries, you will not only be sharpening your linguistic skills, but you may also be preventing memory disorders! Learn on!
Back to School Tech Support
Many Mac and Windows Ultralingua users find the Hotkey to be the most useful feature of the entire suite of Ultralingua language tools; yet many others are unaware of this powerful tool!
What does it do?
Ever stumble across an unfamiliar word while reading through an email, website, or other document? The Ultralingua Hotkey is here to help! Use the Hotkey to instantly view a translation or definition of any word that has you stumped.
How does it work?
Simply hover your mouse cursor over a word then activate the Hotkey by pressing the assigned keyboard stroke or mouse click. The Hotkey will work in most editable text, including web pages and edit-protected PDF documents. Note however, that it will not work with scanned text or any text saved in an image format.
For the Hotkey to work, the Ultralingua interface does not need to be launched or displayed, thus saving screen space. Clicking the 'More' button will display the Ultralingua main window.
To set up your Hotkey, check in the Ultralingua menu and look for the menu item called 'Preferences'.
